A blend that changes slightly each year. Beautifully defined dark fruit, there always seems to be a generous lick of cassis in this wine, even when the Cabernet component is actually quite modest, just a frame of toasty oak and just enough Alicante crunch to keep it all fresh and energetic.

Casa Relvas was born from the desire to continue the family’s history; a family that has been living from the land for five generations in two continents. This family project began in 1997 by Alexandre Relvas at “Herdade de São Miguel” in São Miguel de Machede - Redondo, when he saw the similar landscape as his African roots.

The passion for Alentejo and respect for its unique and authentic nature led to the first step in this project: the planting of a typical afforestation. But it was in the vineyard, a culture with more than 2000 years of history in the region, that he discovered his true passion.

I recommend this product

The best Portuguese wine I’ve had to date

The mixed fruit character was very evident, a raspberry note the clearest. The woody hint came in after an airing. Beautiful balanced fruit.
